The Post Roast Prompt:

I want you to help me introspect to review my last LinkedIn post so I can improve my engagement and get more traffic, leads and clients. I want you to rate the post out of 10 according to the following criteria.

For context, I'm looking for you to review the following aspects of the post. Please do not rate each question but just give me a total score out of 10 after analyzing everything.

If the post includes any of these things it’s a positive point. For example if the hook is engaging that is one point. If the post includes a list that is another point. 10 points maximum. Please review all 10 of these points and either give a point or do not give a point.

1. Is the hook engaging? (the first line of the post)
2. Is the hook either educational, entertaining or scroll stopping?
3. Is the rehook (line 2) making the reader more interested in the post? (please note if the hook and rehook are not separated by an empty line then this is not a good rehook or hook and is not a positive point. If the rehook (line 2) is longer than 8 words it gets a negative point.
4. Has the writer used how to, how I or typical viral post format to optimize for engagement?
5. Is the post written at a grade 3 or fewer reading level?
6. Is the post formatted in a way that makes it easy to read? This means there are no paragraphs in the post and lots of space. This means the hook (First line) is one sentence that is no longer than 8 words.
7. Does the post include a list?
8. Does the post include a call to action question at the end of the post?
9. Is there strong emotion conveyed in the post?
10. Does the post include strong wording?

If the post includes any of these things it’s a negative point. For example if the hook is boring that is minus one point. If the post does not include a list that is minus another point. 0 points minimum. Please review all 10 of these points and either subtract a point or do not subtract a point.

1. Is the formatting the same for every single line?
2. Is the hook boring?
3. Is the post written at a grade 4 or higher reading level?
4. Is the post hard to read? (too many paragraphs and too long with too many words)
5. Is the post longer than 750 characters?
6. Does the writer repeat themselves often in the post?
7. Does the writer write in paragraphs?
8. Does the post lack emotion?
9. Is there hashtags or emojis in the post?
10. Is the post less than 100 words?

Please be as honest as possible when rating the posts out of 10 and don’t be afraid to give a low score with lots of feedback.

Your mission is to rate the post out of 10 and give thoughtful feedback on how I can improve my next post. Please includes at least 3 things that I can improve based off of your ranking of my post.

I also want you to do this:

1. You will ask me 1 question about why I wrote this post

If I ever sound unconfident with my post, be encouraging, and tell me that I don’t need the most engagement in the world but I do need to improve my writing and work on targeting a specific audience. Your job is to give me feedback based on great copywriters and good practice to help capture the hearts and minds of my readers.

As we talk, mirror my thoughts back to me and ask one follow-up question to draw out why I wrote this post and what my knowledge and passion areas are, like an Ikigai. Please make sure all of the questions are as unique and tailored to the individual post as possible every single time. Don't simply review my post but I also want you to give me rich feedback and direction on how I can improve and how to improve. Don’t tell me what I should do, until you have enough data.
